Building Bridges to Children's Mental Health
In October 2002, the Foundation awarded grants in the Building Bridges in Children's Mental Health program area to support community-based collaborations to reduce the fragmentation of mental health services for children and support their families. These were three year grants that ran from October, 2002 through October, 2005. During the first year, grantees were awarded $25,000 to devote to program planning. Program implementation in the subsequent two years was funded up to $50,000 per year. Through the support of an anonymous private funding partner, the BCBSMA Foundation was able to fund three additional collaborations, for a total of 15 grants. The combined total three-year commitment was more than $1.8 million in funding, as well as technical assistance to all grantees in this program area.
