Phillip manages all of the Foundation's grantmaking programs. He joined the Foundation after having served for five years as the Philanthropy Project Director and Physician Diversity Director for Community Catalyst, Inc., a national advocacy organization that builds community participation in promoting affordable health care for all consumers. He has significant experience in grantmaking and fundraising, program development and project management, and community outreach and workforce diversity for health care and educational institutions  Among his former employers are Harvard Medical School, Partners HealthCare, Brigham & Women's Hospital and the Massachusetts Department of Education.  Phillip is an active volunteer and has received awards for his community service and leadership.  He holds a masters degree in public policy from University of Massachusetts-Boston, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont.
